What is the best way to wash silk?

All Silky Baby products are made of high-quality silk. To ensure a long lifespan, it is important that the products are properly maintained.

It is best to wash the products briefly (1-2 minutes) by hand in lukewarm water. If you use the washing machine, choose a delicate or wool wash program at 30 degrees. We recommend spinning at the lowest possible speed. Preferably use a detergent specifically for delicate laundry (wool and silk) with an almost neutral pH value and laundry with similar colors.

What is the best way to iron silk?

quality silk. To ensure a long lifespan, it is important that the products are properly maintained.

1. Set your iron to a low temperature, often referred to as the silk or delicate setting. The iron should not be too hot to avoid burning.
2. Make sure the silk is damp. You can do this by spraying it lightly with water or by not leaving it completely dry after washing.
3. Place a thin cotton cloth between the iron and the silk to avoid direct contact.
4. Iron the silk gently, taking care not to leave the iron in one spot for too long.

What is the difference between silk and cotton?

• Silk has a smooth and soft texture that prevents fragile skin and delicate hair from chafing, which is ideal for babies. Cotton can feel rougher, causes more friction and causes bald spots more quickly.
• Silk is naturally hypoallergenic, breathable, moisture-regulating and temperature-regulating. Cotton is also breathable and moisture-absorbing, but less effective at regulating a constant temperature.
• Silk is generally more expensive than cotton due to the complex production process and luxurious properties.
• Silk wicks away moisture quickly, keeping baby dry and comfortable. Cotton also absorbs moisture, but dries less quickly.
• Silk and cotton are both hypoallergenic, but cotton offers less protection against allergens. Silk has naturally antibacterial properties and cotton does not.
